What are devotions?

Journaling is an excellent way to hear the voice of God speak into your life. Writing it down helps us to remember what God has blessed us with, as well as the lifelong lessons He wants to deposit into our hearts. Our prayer is that you will allocate some time to spend with the Creator of the universe, and allow Him to mold you into the person He created you to be!

What does  "SaLT"  stand for and how do I use it?

Speak to me:

Open your Bible to the reading found under today's date of your Bible bookmark. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you that day, and write it in your journal. Ask the Holy Spirit to inspire you as you read.

Action:

What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you what He wants you to do because of what you've read.

Learn:

Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Perhaps it is instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise, or corrections for a particular area of your life. What did you learn and what are your next steps?

Talk with God:

This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out.

Today's Devotion: "Three Times a Day"

S

“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.”
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Pray three times a day, being intentional, purposeful, and specific.

L

Daniel found a healthy rhythm in praying three times a day. I’m sure he prayed more than that, but these prayers were intentional, purposeful, and specific.

T

Heavenly Father, You mean the world to me. Everything is about You I cannot breathe without You. Talking to You in this way, three times a day is the bare minimum of how often I want to talk with You. We can hold conversations ALL DAY LONG because of our amazing relationship. But these ones are different. These moments together are precious, purposeful, intentional, and very specific. It’s out of a longing to hear You and see You that I connect with You in this way. You are my inspiration and the heartbeat of my soul. Without You, I just exist. With You, life is filled with incredible moments.
May my prayers touch Your heart an remind You that it’s You…it’s always You. You know more about me than anyone else…and yet, You still love me.
Thank You, for being the best part of me. I will pray to You three times a day because I love You and want You to know that You’re always on my mind and heart.
You’re simply the best!! Better than all the rest! I love You forever and always!
In Your name I pray…AMEN!

What is Discipleship?

Here at New Hope, we believe discipleship happens through relationship. Discipleship is a journey of intentional decisions that leads you to deepen your relationship with Jesus so that you become more like Him. Because it's relational, it can happen anywhere and at anytime. Oftentimes, the first person you disciple is yourself. We want to equip you as you disciple yourself, your family, co-worker, neighbor or friend.
